Go media?
Go media?
I just finished watching the series "Hikaru no Go". I was wondering if there is any other manga that was made about the board game, or an amazing fanfic.
Are there any links to any of the Go movies? (Go master)
Maybe even a fan-made continuation of Hikaru no Go?
I'm just generally curious about the media of Go.

Re: Go media?
There was this one Manga on Go released in Korea. But it was more of a psychological thriller than a typical shonen story.
If you have only watched the series, you might want to read the manga, since it has an extra arc (hokuto cup). Apart from that I can't think of another series.

Umm that sounds pretty cool actually. More info?

Sounds like the manga I wish Nobuyuki Fukumoto would write.
Go + ざわ…ざわ… would be fantastic.

Re: Go media?
A cartoon I'd like to be able to read: http://club.weiqi.tom.com/item_111_1552513_0_7.html (About Go Seigen's Jubango game against Kitani Minoru)
The Chinese "anime" is said to stink, but search for 为期 on http://tudou.com and you'll find it.
Neither are AFAIK available in English.

Also here's a blog about it.
It's 바둑삼국지 (The Three Baduk Kingdoms). I own the first 5 volumes, but you don't need to buy to read the ongoing series as it's all archived here: http://media.paran.com/cartoon/cartoonmain.kth?id=62

Mm, you sure it's Go and not Mahjong? There's an anime/manga "Akagi" where they play Washizu Mahjong, a variation of Mahjong where blood is wagered (1000 pts <-> 1 deciliter).Violence wrote:Go + Zawa...Zawaaaa..., where the loser loses a deciliter of blood per point difference at the end of the game.

That's what Violence was referencing. "Zawa zawa" (ざわ…ざわ…) is onomatopoeia used heavily by the mangaka who drew Akagi (Nobuyuki Fukumoto) in all of his series.
