Re: Tygem on the iPad...risky for 4G access?!
That's normal for the Tygem app when not connecting over wifi. The developers were obviously paranoid, perhaps because of poor data plan availability in asia? In any event, the app has no particularly large data requirements, at least unless there's some secret audio or video feature I haven't seen ...

Re: Tygem app no more available on the iTunes AppStore?
That assumes "you can use the desktop PC app", which is sadly not the case for me.

Re: New WBaduk client for iPad & iPhone
Just following up here. I gave wbaduk another try recently and found there is now a setting called "Preview stone on the board" which requires a double tap to send a move to the server. I don't know when this setting was added or if I simply didn't notice it before, but it's now there and I consider ...

Re: Tygem on Linux using Wine!
I've tried installing tygem on OS X with wine. I was able to install the app and run it, but I was unable to actually use the app in any meaningful way without great difficulty. (the primary problem was mouse clicks not registering correctly)
That doesn't directly say what the situation on linux ...

Re: Tygem app no more available on the iTunes AppStore?
I had the problem of stones not appearing once - maybe a week or so ago to. The problem went away quickly and I haven't seen it again.
Still loving the Tygem app, but I agree that the inability to download (or even review) past games is a very painful.

Re: Tygem sucks
I think I prefer the Tygem policy to the KGS policy. I don't get very worked up about escapers (anymore) so it's not really a big deal. However, I would say the number of times I don't win a game that I should have won on KGS because of escaper is at least an order of magnitude larger than the ...

Re: Greed (3-3 invasion as first move)
If nobody in this thread sees this similarly, huh, very sad.
I feel like you do a lot, but it's definitely one of my weaknesses. In such cases, I often feel like I'm entitled to win just because my opponent is so "bad". It's easy to get lazy and play moves without thinking. "Obviously my ...

Re: Will the KGS Android client be available in Amazon App S
Are there non-store distribution mechanisms for android for more technical users or is it like the iPad where the only mechanism (outside of testing) is through the app store?

Re: tygem on mac w/ wine
I don't know how to make it work, but through some random hacking I discovered that if you set your screen resolution really low it somehow makes tygem responsive. I didn't try playing, but I was able to browse my past games (played on the ipad) and copy them to kgs for review.

Re: Will the KGS Android client be available in Amazon App S
I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of my Kindle Fire. If I can't access KGS on it, I'll be quite sad. Jumping on KGS was one of the things I was really looking forward to, since it's really the only thing I can't do on my iPad already.

Re: New WBaduk client for iPad & iPhone
My first game wasn't saved either, though given the early mis-tap, I can't say I'm sad about that at all. I'd love to try again, but I can't for the life of me get anyone on wbaduk to play. Automatch seems to take about half a day to find a game, and manually making requests hasn't proven any better ...

Re: WBaduk for iOS is available
The client is beautiful, but there doesn't seem to be any mis-tap prevention while playing. If you accidentally touch the board in the wrong spot, game over. I like the Tygem double-tap approach. I think wms said in another thread the KGS app has a confirm button. That's a reasonable solution too.

Re: New WBaduk client for iPad & iPhone
The interface is really nice, but unless I'm blind, I don't see any mis-tap prevention. I finally managed to get my first game, and I ended up with two serious mistakes from the stone not going where I intended. I'm going to stick with playing onTygem, even though the Wbaduk program is superior in ...

Re: Tygem for english users
One added note here. If I set my screen size painfully low (like 640x480) and run TygemGlobal.exe, I'm able to interact with Tygem. It's at least enough to be able to pull up my games list. I don't seem to be able to use the save function, but it's better than nothing. I'm hoping this is just lion ...

Re: Tygem for english users
I'm able to install and run Tygem after adding the dll mentioned earlier. I'm also able to login using my ipad account. However, after login, I'm unable to interact with the main tygem app screen. I'm an mac, recently upgraded to Lion and with wine installed via macports. (2.0) Anyone seen that ...
