woppinger, based on my experience with Korean equipment, I would recommend you look for Japanese green stones. Just my opinion.

-2nd set, Dictionaries under Nie Weiping supervision

why dont you make them yourself, you can find many SGF problems collections online. then create pdf. then print & cut it into flash sized cards

That is correct, but I think Sam Sloan owns Ishi Press Archives and rights to some books published by the original Ishi Press.

Did you have a chance to see the original book? Maybe you were expecting too much if you didn't see the 1st edition.

Also, this can be the case (option 2):

Sam Sloan (who now owns rights to some old Ishi Press books) scanned an English 1st book edition,
worked a little bit on it and then print it ...

Re memorizing games, there were discussions about that method on rec.games.go,
and I was personally given that advice too.
I believe that was method used mostly by Japanese amateur players.

On rec.games.go, besides Roy L who wrote about it, I've found Motoyasu's ideas interesting - see below ...

Hi, thanks to everyone who responded.

Not sure how they might be called, but looks to me they are rectangular - see page 6 from Ranka Yearbook.

Definitely not boxes for shogi pieces, I have them and the box is much smaller.

And I've never see container for Go bowls separated, it's always for 2 ...
