Re: Update on Taiwanese weiqi scene

Hi globulon.
I just came back from Minsheng park. Played a game after dinner, which was fun. To my surprise many of the guys speak good English.
I will re-visit every now and then. Thank you for writing about it :)

Re: Who is coming to EGC 2015?

St. Petersburg is a stone away from Helsinki, flights not really expensive.
Also there are very cheap flights to Turkey, as low as 60 eur, but during summer prices soar fast. Need to buy early. Fortunately you have 2 years :D

You forgot 1 white 1 black diagonal.
edit: Oh I see you count it. Thought you wanted to deal with symmetry as well.

Re: Weiqi in Xi'an?

Imo, finding English speakers is not that important.
Once upon a time I got into a club in Beijing (forgot the name, the big one), and all I needed to speak in Chinese was my rank.

If you end up finding nice places, please add it to Sensei's library, to the places in China page. I will for sure ...

Re: Many books, and a set of glass stones

Hi EdLee,
I had measured the stones (only a white one), and it was indeed 10mm. But I shied away from writing it, as measuring with a ruler is not very precise.
Thank you very much for all the info.

Many books

So, I have the following books that I want to sell. I am moving, and don't want to carry these, if possible.
I ship from Sweden. I prefer if someone buys all, or most of it, then I can sell cheaper. Less shipping, less hassle.
I aim for 7 eur (8 usd) per book, except the starred one and the pocket ...

Re: SGF Editor for Mac?

I just installed GoWrite. When you said it I didn't think much of thumbnails, but having preview with player names makes it much easier to look for a particular game among a bunch of sgf files. Also it is very smooth when opening multiple files.

Re: SGF Editor for Mac?

I mainly use the one included in KGS. Sente:Goban is 10$ and can edit, but I find it a pain to use but graphics are better than KGS. I just tried GoWrite, and ... well... I find it ugly but usable. If anyone have anything better than that, I would also be glad to know.

And please don't suggest ...

So, I will be going to Shanghai as well, and was wondering if you guys got any updates.
That Senseis page is a bit out of date now, so if anybody can give any tips that would be lovely.
