Re: Tips for using Crazy Stone to analyze games

I actually have Crazy Stone 2012 (lol). Could you explain ...

Yes. I got an update for CS 2012 at some point though I can't remember the details. I'm sure it was free.

Re: Books on Shapes & books on invasions

Re: 3,997 Hours to go

I guess I heard about this story in "The Sports Gene". It's too bad that he has back problems, but it is also true that in most of the things I personally have worked really hard to improve on, at some point the accumulated fatigue of simply trying to put in the practice time becomes a real obstacle ...

Re: Rumour on Reading

One of my favorite lessons is Inseong Hwang's 1-2-3 reading video. It has helped tremendously for finding the right way to solve problems.

Unfortunately have to be a member to get access to all the videos.

What's the basic idea?

If your obvious move gives your opponent a good move in ...

Re: Diplomacy (board game) -- nice article

After all the anger, the manipulation, the frayed nerves, and the hurt feelings, I was left feeling something wholly unlike boredom, but something also unlike fun.

Re: Blinking and Reading

Is it qualitatively different than tapping your fingers with each stone you place mentally? All strong Chinese players do that, and I have picked up the habit.

Very old thread, but I have been practicing my reading a lot lately and find myself involuntarily sort of tapping or wiggling my fingers ...

Re: Getting back on the horse

I try to think of dividing my efforts into "improvement" phases and "maintenance" phases. This definitely applies to Go because I don't always have the time or the desire to focus on it enough to really improve. It turns out, in my opinion, that you can maintain your level at stuff (even stuff like ...
