Everyone seems to have already covered the problem but I'll just put in my 2 cents. I like to follow a proverb (when I remember it). "Dont touch your opponent's weak stones." The idea behind this is that doing so will make them stronger. However, this is only a proverb. Dont base your play entirely ...

One way to take the easy way out is to simply compare territories of similar size. Or to count two smaller territories as one larger territory. It doesn't exactly tell you how many points you have but it does give you a good estimate as to whether you're ahead or behind.

A6-B6, then A4 and A5 are miai for two eyes.

Just a quick thought: You were pretty fortunate that your opponent didnt kill your lower left group with a move at A6 instead of A5.

Back from a hiatus.

Hello everyone. Im back and it has been far too long since Ive played go.

For those who dont know me, I've been playing Go for what should be 7 or 8 years now.
I really cant give a rank as I've been gone too long to give a rank that's actually right.

I think I got to SDK and started to improve when I began to play moves that were outside of my "comfort zone." A lot of things like the keima, monkey jump and the negativity of an empty triangle were things that I learned ...
