Re: FindGoPlayers.com launch

Fully agreed with Tom & RBerenguel.

I'm also in the tech sector, and I won't be signing up for anything without knowing the details.

Re: Ready Player One

I was not taken by it. Sure, there were lots of pop culture throwback references. But strip them away, and the content is rather thin. I'd say it's a great trip down nostalgia lane.

Re: Singing the praises of Yellow Mountain Imports

I'll throw my weight behind your praise and add to the choir. I've had only good experiences in all my dealings with YMI. Truly a customer service model for the ages. They are excellent at exceeding service expectations.

Re: Nobody in my company interested in Weiqi

LoL is an atrocity. More power to you if you can get people interested in Go.

Update to my last post: One (or more) of my coworkers are playing against me on my board. I haven't seen who marked the board, so I don't know my opponent, but they've either got some experience or are looking up how to ...

Re: Nobody in my company interested in Weiqi

I've had the "What books are you reading?" Blank stare reply. It's my first question, because I love books even more than Go.

Tried to get people into go, but no one at work has caught the bug. Behind my desk last week, I drew a 9x9 board on my whiteboard and put a black stone on 3x3. Wrote next to ...

Re: How do you stay motivated to keep studying go?

I like to play in-person. So for now, my motivation-stopper is a lack of opponents convenient to my location. But I still love the game and practice tsumego in the mean-time, when I can.

Re: Mainstream Go Sightings

I don't know if this was mentioned somewhere on the previous 14 pages.

Recently I watched " White Vengeance " on Netflix. It's a Chinese Qin - Chu period tale centered around the Hongmen Banquet. A significant part of the movie is a battle between strategists Zhang Liang & Fan Zeng at weiqi.
