I'm not sure that comparison list is up to date. It's been my experience that the OGS kyu ranks are significantly stronger. For instance, I've been 5 kyu for a while on KGS but I'm a stable 9 kyu on OGS. Looking over profiles from the OGS player list, there are several players around OGS 4 kyu that ...

I prefer IRC for chat as well, but since many of us are likely to be on KGS in any case and there's already chat functionality there, I don't think it's worth risking some slight fragmentation of the community over. I do miss timestamps and logging, though.
