9x9 lasted a perfect length of time for me to play a game every time I started a recompile of the project I was working on at the time :)

Welcome!
I can recommend getting igowin 9x9 (or similar programs that track your "rank", giving you handicap). I played a few hundred games against it when I started playing and it gave me a good head start on tactics / fighting (can't really learn good strategy on 9x9).
It took me from ~20k to 10k ...

Pre-made strategy is only useful if your opponent plays along with you, I've found in many games that I had to alter my plans, it is a two player game after all. Rolling with the punches and being more adaptable seems to be how strong players play the game. Or am I wrong?

99.9999% of my apps are still desktop apps. I dont understand why running it in my browser is such a good idea? What does it really bring to the table?
Using webkit or whatever you can still get all the benefits of running the latest code, automatic updates, etc etc but at least it will be a ...

I was always told NOT to make a wall like that unless I have a good extension already in place..? Black gets a lot of territory so your wall had better be useful.
