Re: Leela-zero project
My concern is that generally anything distributed alongside GPLv3 code must also be GPLv3. I am not a lawyer, so I have no idea how important this is in this context. I may just be overreacting.

Re: Leela-zero project
I would like to participate, however this concerns me somewhat. The license in ThreadPool.h is not compatible with the GPLV3.
The code is released under the GPLv3 or later, except for ThreadPool.h, which has a specific license mentioned in that file.
Edit: Also, more importantly, I have no idea ...

Re: AlphaGo vs. Lee Sedol to stream Live on youtube!!!!
Honestly if they don't play with long time settings I won't care very much. It would be kind of lame of Google claimed victory after winning with absurd time settings. I wouldn't consider the AI to have "won" until it wins with reasonable timing.

Re: Why is this an equal result in this joseki?
A remark overheard one clear morning: ‘I’m going to follow my joseki and take the dog out for a walk.’ … These days the word ‘joseki’ has come into general use to describe any fixed form of behavior… it is defined as ‘stones played in accordance with a fixed formula in the game of go.’

To be fair, his shape isn't that bad, and the white positions don't exist to lend context.

Re: scoring
Well, passing isn't really practical. To capture pieces you have to be a step ahead of the other person. So if you pass you'll naturally be a step behind. If you capture first then want to stop playing, well, ok, but there's a lot of space on the board.
What if someone wanted to? Would you allow ...
Re: scoring
If I had a pet robot who could look at the board and count the intersections for me, I'd consider playing your way, perhaps. unfortunately I'm a stupid human and it takes me fifteen minutes.

Re: scoring
I have personal experience in the method of scoring affecting the outcome of the game. I captured 38 of a person's pieces, and they won, because they had more territory. How can you still defend it?
