IIRC the status of the Bent-Four-in-the-Corner-shape depends on the oustide liberties: 2=alive, 1=ko, 0=dead. Am I missing something?
under japanese rules bent4 is dead, regardless of any liberties.
for example J1989 :
Article 7. Life and death
1. Stones are said to be "alive" if they cannot ...

Re: what is the ASR doing wrong?
What would the drawback be to going to a negative komi handicap system in ASR?
why reverse komi, and not handicap stones? handicap stones are much better than reverse komi in teaching games, since they help to teach how to fight.

Re: WBaduk client - no korean language in chat?
The only way to see foreign languages is to have the environment set to English. I've had to go back and forth on my PC in order to get the right language environment. You can now read what's typed in, but you can't actually respond.

Re: Professionals in Amateur tournaments
I have no clue about the motivations of strong European players, but it seems to me like expecting to win money from tournaments for anything other than covering travelling costs to be pretty unreasonable (and even just that seems risky to depend on).

I can't express how happy I was to sit there on EuroGoTV watching the top two boards of a European tournament, consisting of 3 professionals and strong Korean ex-insei.

it´s better not to think about g. g is dame, there is still a cut, and the relationship to the upper side is weird.
c-f are over-agressive, because it will end 2 weak black groups vs 1 weak white group (we10 will start a very promising fight for white)

Re: Class not registered
maybe the error is connected to the flash animation which starts when you win a game. if that´s the case turning off all flash animations should help. i´ll try that as soon as my new rank is out of danger of getting demoted.
edit: just watched tons of games until someone counted .. IT WORKS!

i think you are right. i have 64bit windows 7 , but wbaduk runs fine on my laptop with 32bit vista .

I miss the option to choose "Austria"
In one of Day 1’s most surprising upsets, Bernhard Scheid 5d (Austria) defeated Ondrej Silt 6d (l) of Czechia. Silt “made a joseki mistake and so I got the lead,” said Scheid, “but then he managed to complicate the game and my lead became less clear. But ...

don´t forget to replay professional games! the joseki you see in actual games are the one you really need, nobody is interested in what people played 200 years ago

Re: McMahon Bar
I've once had to decide on a McMahon bar for a 5 round tournament that featured a 6 dan, three 5 dans, two 4 dans and no fewer than twelve 3 dan players
then how about using gor to decide the topgroup? just put the x strongest player according to gor into the top group
