I think the greatest difference aren't the teaching methods/teachers, but the students, when I watch lectures on youtube from asian professionals at a western congress people are just asking sooooo much, it is so annoying imo, so so annoying.
I mean it is like they aren't even trying to think/read ...

I think averell tries to say, that if for example Player X 5k sets a game up, but there is just Player Y 5k who could play with him because of Player X set the hc on 0 each way, and all other 5k's are offline, that if Player Y 5k doesn't like the time settings, he can't click on Play to negotiate ...

I did not want to open a new topic for that, and I don't know much about teaching on other Go Servers or in general about Go, but what about the idea to be able to drawing things on the go Board in Teaching lessons, not only the defined forms but also freestyle?

Yes, maybe the system is not the point and it's alright like it is.
But now I read through the thread and it seems many join to have a community which is a bit more serious about improving, teaching, helping.. so what about like make a Beginner class? Like teaching the basics there, and everyone ...

I understand your point, but just look at Class Gamma I, there is one player (first place) who won all his games (20 so far) and the third place lost all his games 28 games, yes active, and nothing wrong with losing, I would sure also just lose in Gamma at this point, because I'm not yet good enough ...

When I understood the scoring system right, you're also heavily rewardet for losing a game right? Or better said just playing and being active, nothing wrong with that, but why not adjust it so that in Delta no change, because new players etc ...
