Re: A question about handicaps
The fighting game community. Though like I said on page2 the mentality has been shifting since the more recent games have blatant comeback mechanics to cater to the newer generation of weak minded video game players. I'm weak at fighting games (last one I played was Soul Caliber 2 and Tekken 2 ...

Re: A question about handicaps
I come from a competitive culture that severely looks down upon any rule of mechanic that aids the weaker player and attempts to level the playing field.
Which culture is that, if I may ask? The fighting game community. Though like I said on page2 the mentality has been shifting since the more ...

A question about handicaps
Absolute beginner at Go here. I come from a competitive culture that severely looks down upon any rule of mechanic that aids the weaker player and attempts to level the playing field. The stronger player managed to get to his level with the same tools at his disposal as anyone else so why is the ...

Re: Hey there (any Dutch players around?)
Ah for shame, I'll be in Toulouse, France during Hemelvaart for another kind of tournament.
But thanks for those links. It seems that there are enough places to play offline. Hopefully I can attend soon.
Another question, two friends of mine told me to get an IGS account but it seems most people ...

Hey there (any Dutch players around?)
Completely inexperienced player here. Was turned onto Go by the fighting game community (which is a very Japan oriented video game genre) and I'm very intrigued. I'm reading Go for Beginners by Kaoru Iwamoto and playing 9x9 games against the cpu on my phone to get an idea of how the game works.
