Famous Baduk Pros Of Korea?

All know that
there are Honinbo Dosaku, Honinbo Shusaku etc in the go/igo history of Japan.
Huang Longshi, Fan Xiping etc in Chinese Weiqi History.
And such prodigies in the Baduk history of Korea?
Who knows?
Just curiosity. :)

Re: Pros who are good at aggressive and defensive playing st

Maybe this is the second thought.
If you wanna study ones of attack and defense, the ancient Chinese matches are amazing.
They are at all time fighting and defending (even with their weak groups).

As you know, Go is a game of territory.
The more territory you got, the more chance to win.
However ...

Re: huang longshi

Thank you.
But, I don't know whether they are the same or not.
Here are two covers.
In the first book, there are 78 matches (531 pages) while 28 matches in the latter (318 pages).
Both are provided in commentary.

Re: huang longshi

On Master Huang Longshi's games of commentary, I found 2 books.
But both are in Chinese, that is all Greek to me.
I try to do with OCR software/online, but it doesn't work.
It would be great work if someone translate them into English.
I don't mean a whole book, but one chapter/week.

If Chinese ...

Ancient Pros Vs Modern Pros

I read the following text from an interview (with Cho Seokbin).

http://361points.com/choseokbin/

Did you study historical Go players (for instance Shusaku, or even older)? If so, what do you think of those players - how do they compare to today's top players in terms of strength?

I ...

Re: Interesting Fuseki of A Generation and any idea?

This is before the development of whole-board opening theory, so it's best not to study these games for their opening. Instead you should try to integrate the old patterns you find in these games into modern opening theory. You can study old games to find these patterns, but an often easier way is ...

Re: huang longshi

But one game per page is boring (for beginners), I think.

ooh, I disagree. This is best.
One page, one game, play it out on a board -- it makes you think about the game and where the next move might be.

Yes, you may say so.
What you said is interesting and practical.
But it's not just for me ...

Re: huang longshi

Hello Logan!
It's kind of you.
You share your hard work, I mean Master Huang Longshi's games.
But one game per page is boring (for beginners), I think.
You should share sgf files in a single zip/rar.
Then we can print as we like, such as 25 moves per page etc.

Waiting for your kindness...
Thanks ...

Please point them out.
What are my weakness? (All parts?)
Which parts to study more and more.

Thanks in advance!

Interesting Fuseki of A Generation and any idea?

As you know, Honinbo Doetsu is the teacher of Honinbo Dosaku.
The teacher and the pupil played " 3-5 Four Corners Fuseki " (with Yasui Sanchi, Yasui Santetsu, Aoki Guseki and Sugimura Saburozaemon).
Two matches are here.
And the matches are awesome.
I wanna know any idea on this fuseki.

Thanks in ...
