After a break of a few years (3 kids ;-) ) I restarted to play go seriously. I have missed a lot concerning the entire AI influence of current day games. As such, I find myself in situations where my opponent plays AI influenced variations and my replies are mostly focused on good ...

I would also add that the fourth volume of GGPB is pretty tough for an 8-9k. At your level I would do volume 2 for problems that you should be able to solve smoothly, and volume 3 to challenge yourself a bit.

The flip side is that if you're doing fine with volume 4 except for some ko problems, you ...

After many months (even years) of serious inactivity, I decided to take another shot at "breaking through" my current rank. No clear goals for the moment, except for casting aside my anxiety when playing. I was/am too fixed on "not losing" that I just couldn't enjoy the game anymore ...

Just saw the message passing by on other social media. Sad day for Western/European go if you ask me. Had a lot of fun go moments in that place and was there only a few weeks ago. Very sad indeed.

I also encountered this recently. Stable 8 kyu for many years who can "suddenly" beat higher dan players. I find this very sad because it really hurts the game, as you stated! Especially, it ruins the fun for the player him/herself, as you are cheating yourself also. I hope this won't become more ...

I wondered if any of you could point me to a good source/problems focussing on crosscuts. I tend to avoid them because I'm not at ease with the possible variations and as such I would like to train myself on the subject. Is the Crosscut workshop ok? Or are other sources available ...

My hardcopy arrived, so I can finally start this evening with the first game. I'll post my questions/... soon!
