I'm playing "a guy" who 4 months ago was a DGS 1k and has managed to make it to 4d ! This "guy" is not new to DGS, I've played "him" several times over the last couple of years and "he" was always around 1k.

I suspect foul play

It's not a big deal really, but this seems to me to be a new style of sandbagging and sandbagging in general hurts the game... IMO.

I also encountered this recently. Stable 8 kyu for many years who can "suddenly" beat higher dan players. I find this very sad because it really hurts the game, as you stated! Especially, it ruins the fun for the player him/herself, as you are cheating yourself also. I hope this won't become more mainstream.

Luckily, as a 4k, I doubt if I encounter it much, as bot-supported players will quickly move up in the ranks. I do suspect however that the problem will eventually subside for stronger players as well, because the thrill of watching one's purchased bot beat a human opponent will wear out sooner or later.

This reverse of sandbagger. There are 4dan bot in DGS. Not sure what joy it provides to cheat with bot.
