Studying ; Game of the day |UPD ; 25/8/2011|

Hello fellow go-enthusiasts,

Today I have decided that in order to become stronger, I will replay at least one professional game a day (next to the other stuff I intend to do i.e. tsumego/watching lectures and playing).
Now as I know I (sadly) lack a fair bit of self-discipline I had to figure out ...

Re: Request : Peculiar Fuseki.

I'm happy to announce I just purchased GoGod (Mark Hall will mail it to me on monday) so I'll have a massive database to find these games in and help me progress :- ).

Still looking for peculiar openings though! 6-4, 6-3, anything!

Re: Request : Peculiar Fuseki.

Thank you for all of your great contributions so far! Always looking for more peculiar fuseki though so keep them coming. I have to say I'm a little shocked that out of over 70 000 kifu there's only 9 that feature 6-3 openings.

As for the Smartgo print out of openings.. wow... I can't believe ...

Request : Peculiar Fuseki.

Good evening fellow go-enthusiasts,

I have recently read and studied this article : m which has gotten me very interested in the 6-3 opening. I've been searching the internet for pro-games (and also high level amateur games) using this particular opening, but I have had no luck.
I would like to ...

Re: MTG?

I will quite easily first pick Fangren Marauder in triple MBS drafts.
It is an amazing card, I've won several drafts with it (IRL).

But in a MBS-SOM-SOM draft I would probably like to pick Spine of Ish Sah.

Starting a little Shogi Club!?

Hello L19x19'ers,

I've been watching an anime about shogi (Shion no ou) and I think I would very much like to learn how to play it.
I was discussing this very matter on KGS and several people came forward, saying that they too wanted to learn how to play.
Mind you this is in no way meant to ...

Re: What language ....

Thank you for all your interest and help guys. I have (for now) decided to go for Korean. I ordered a "self study course" and it should arrive sometime this week.
I chose Korean because the language itself interests me the most. I also happen to have a couple of Korean go books that have both the ...

Re: What language ....

Thank you guys for your feedback. Sorry I've been so inactive in this topic, I've been sick for a while now, feeling better though.
Some of you have offered me great insight into all languages and linguistics in general. I can't believe how many linguists this forum has, I had expected a lot more ...

Re: What language ....

I realise that in the end it all depends on whatever language I like most, but that's also why it's impossible for me to choose.

I am interested in Korean because it's supposed to be the only language on earth that was actually created by men in search of the most logical and efficient language ...

What language ....

Greetings fellow L19x19ians,

Seeing as I'm sick right now and woke up at 2 AM, I found myself with some spare time to ponder a question I've had for a while now.
You see, I've been wanting to learn another language for a while now (one of the big oriental ones) and eventually I'd like to learn ...
