I actually teach people how to play Go for a living and advertise that I can help them reach Dan. m and m You can watch and see if you like my style or not there. Reaching 1d in a year is very possible. I taught a student who was 12kyu and got him to 1d in 1 year and 3 months.

This is a good idea, but I would have to agree that it is not %100 accurate due to reasons other have posted. BUT! I think that if you applied a database to this as was previously suggested it would make for an interesting program.

Here's the catch though, one Go game does not look like another! So ...

I've seen point systems before, and I like this system the best...

3 points for a win, 1 point for a loss. If you play the same opponent, then the points decrease by half each time.

so A vs B and A wins = A 3 points and B 1 point.
Then A plays B again, A gets 1.5 which brings 3 up to 4.5, and B ...

I think this was a well played game by white. as to respond to your question, I think move 66 I would of prefered l-4 as to make the eye space smaller and into a box 4 shape.

Why resign so early? Sure you lost a few points and your behind now, but is it really game over already?
