Re: Go Teachers' Workshop accepting applications

Good suggestions.

The October time frame is the choice of Nihon Kiin, based on the availability of their team. For us, of course the summer would be preferable. Hopefully we can change that in future versions.

Likewise the workshop content is restricted by the available instructors. There are many ...

Am I right in assuming that sponsorship is only available for American attendees?

Yes. For now the applications are accepted from U.S. and Canada only.

Re: Registration is now open for the 13th World Students Go

Sorry to say, but this looks very suspicious.

Why is the form asking to enter Igs password? It's a very bad security practice, if this is not a phishing attack all together.
Not an unreasonable suspicion. You really need to know more about Pandanet and me to be assured of the security. Feel free ...

Re: What is the rationale behind the sizes of Go boards?

A traditionally-sized 19x19 board has 42 squares on it, which is the answer to life, the universe, and everything.
Oh, absolutely!

In addition, I-ching says that the Go Board emulates the universe and its movement replicates the cycle of life. "Tengen" is the dome in the sky, the four corners ...

Re: 2014 SportAccord-Pandanet Online Tournament

Is this only for strong players? or should kyu players join as well?
Check out the website. There are four divisions, the main division is for players 3d and up, then divisions A through C are for progressively lower-ranked players. Anyone can play, provided you first obtain a firm Pandanet ...

and it seems confirmed here that xiangqi is going to be part of the games.
That's a different event - the SportAccord World Mind Games (SAWMG or just WMG). It is an annual invitational tournament, not the quadrennial Olympic-style WMSG. (The names are confusing ...

Re: T-shirts and Pandanet sponsored tournaments in the US

Figure the chances of my finding someone with a small t and talking my way into ...
