Hello Ed, thank you very much for your detailed analysis, it's been very helpful.
is very interesting for me, I never expected to be able to cut but still take a bit of the corner.

Re: A beginner's journey
Time for another update, with a game this time
Whenever I do my monthly post in this topic I'm surprised that a month has already passed and that I neglected to post any of my promised weekly progress games. Good job!
So, what happened this month? I decided to not play any live games this month ...

Unable to use go4go.net
Hi,
I've been trying to create an account on Go4Go.net for quite a while now and so far nothing has worked.
I tried different browsers, computers, user names, mail addresses (gmail, gmx, my own webspace) but no matter what I do, I never receive an email with login data.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Interesting ideas, I'll try to test everything out you've suggested.

Re: A beginner's journey
It's been one month since my last progress update, so here I am. I didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to Go for the past two weeks, so I didn't post any games, but I'll get back to it.
What went well:
-did a lot of tsumego, both easy and some more difficult ones
-played more 19x19 than I ever ...

Alright, thanks for clarifying.
And in the end, I learned something today, but I'll still be a bit more careful in the future

Re: Helping a friend
I didn't go into my opponents territory, because mine wasn't 100% secure yet. Not realizing that the other player's territory is far from secure as well.
I know you mean well but let me be picky on the semantics here.
Yeah, sorry about that. I'm not 100% familiar with the proper terminology yet ...

Re: Helping a friend
Actually I kind of have (had) the same problem as your friend and his way of playing really reminds me of my own games.
I used to be extremely worried about my own territory and protect where it's already safe.
Meanwhile my opponent was building up enormous territory and I didn't see a way to break ...

Re: Fox Go Server using my webcam?
This is always 100% reproducible and I'm on Windows 7.
I start the app, nothing happens. I log in and the webcam (and/or the microphone) is active until I exit the program.
There doesn't seem any option to turn it off and the program certainly doesn't ask or even tell me about it.

Thanks for the link.
I forgot to mention I'm on Windows.
But there might be a program like that as well, I'll keep looking.

Fox Go Server using my webcam?
Hi,
I'm currently trying to figure out how to play on all the different popular Go servers, but Fox is giving me some trouble.
After the program starts nothing happens, but when I login, my Webcam turns on and stays active and that seems -really- fishy. Now I don't want to unplug or disable my ...

Re: Playing vs reviewing games + tsumego!
Well, my Go journey is still pretty young, so take my opinion with a few dozen grains of salt
I try to review all my games played against human opponents, right after the game ended.
I try to find a move/sequence (mine or my opponents) that seems like the deciding factor for a win/loss.

Re: The Story of a Loser - How Not To Fall Into a Trap?
Like you I (and many others) somehow find it less stressful to play a bot than a human. I think this shows we have a strong ego and we do "play the opponent" instead of "playing the board". Like I said, we can use this to our advantage, when aware of it..
