Re: A possible way to study or get stronger...?

Getting a dan to give a higher level dan a 4 handicap will not make the higher level dan stronger. lol

Think you misunderstood idk...
Breakthrough to shodan talks suggests a way to get stronger is to use a 4 stone handi against a dan presuming your lower than 3-4k.
Why would you want to give ...

A possible way to study or get stronger...?

Someone once mentioned something from a book about getting a dan to give you a 4 handicap as a way to get stronger.
Could the same thing be done with people of equal strength? ie. a 7k gives another 7k a 4 stone handicap.
Would this be profitable?

I know what advice your trying to give me, I feel as though I have gotten what I can out of the books untill I possibly get stronger. Some games I'll recite the fundamentals everymove I play and see if it acheives a fundamental. But it is usually ...

Re: My Study Course

my advice do not waste time with josekis spend that hour in tsumegos
for 250 tsumegos in 1.5 hours its average 21 seconds per problem so you should focus on doing less but reading all the possible variations since the key point is reading and not feeling.
Do not study pro games since at this level ...

My Study Course

Greetings,
I think it is well time that I adopt a course of study. My rank seemingly flaots from 6-9k depending on the means of life I am deling with during that time.

Currently on average I usually do about 200-300 go problems a day at about 3 days a week, most of which are Life and Death. I am ...

Re: How to Punish the 4-4 approach to the 3-5?

Hmmm... Well I have had increasingly good luck by playing in such a way, if its considered a bad move to a high player then, I probably use it against people around my level because I know that they do not know how to deal with it properly and thus use that to my advantage. But even then when I do ...

How to Punish the 4-4 approach to the 3-5?

How do you punish the 4-4 approach to the 3-5 opening?

When I started playing go I played the 3-5 all the time and it still is my favorite opening.
When I started go a few years ago, I played a game where my opponent approached at the 4-4 against the 3-5, I answered something like the 3-3 and ...

Re: Valid moves you don't play.

I never cared much for the 3-3 invasion mostly because it fells like a cheap way to get territory, So I rarely play it.

What do you mean by cheap? You feel it gives you an unfair advantage sometimes? Why wouldn't you play it then?

Cheap was probably the wrong term.
Im more in dislike of the ...

I think the earliest win Ive been in was lvl 12-13 on all team members and thats been in about 3 games total. All the rest of the games seem to be 50/50 between 15 and 18.

Re: The 55th Kansai Ki-in (BPCT) Move questions.

Yea I understand the outer influence, in a few of the var. it a bit thin and probably could be fought against but I was looking at it that it puts more pressure on whites stone in the corner also. But also shows the difference in my level comparied to a pro.
