Mirroring/flipping the board might help to reduce the number of simultaneous games needed...
@BobC That's what the simultaneous games are for. I think this would prevent you from remembering anything unless you had analyzed a position very deeply and not so deeply with others.

Reflexive Game Software?
I'm fascinated by the idea of playing Go (or some other game) against oneself. The biggest problem with this, I think, is not that you understand your own strategies so much as that you remember them. To fix the memory problem, you have to spread out individual games. But that's boring unless you're ...

Re: A new server is being developed: Kaya.gs
Interesting point to bring up. The feedback site has been clearly linked to and I think it should be the eventual center of Kaya feature discussion. But for now, more people would be reached here even if a single forum thread isn't a very good way to do this. (not that I feel like my ideas have any ...

What about their privacy policy? Anyway, I'm not looking for a debate. Private is still generally better.

Punishment? You can't always expect the first person to find a weakness to be the reporting kind. But it still looks like kaya will have your average website security, so there's nothing to worry about too much here.

On the other hand, perhaps making it public has succeeded in increasing the care the kaya developers will take in the future.

Re: Philosophy: 'is' and 'ought'
If you could churn out material of a higher intellectual quality than Plato, Kant, or Wittgenstein, then people would pay attention to you and you would be hot detritus. If you can't, you should take the rhetoric down a notch. That is nonconstructive. Perhaps we shouldn't compare pros at all either.

Re: Philosophy: 'is' and 'ought'
We could be getting into decision theory (which I know nothing about and am probably using the wrong term for) if I suggest that it is practical sometimes, but not always, to act how you want others to act. But we all have different impulses of selfishness, pride...

Re: Philosophy: 'is' and 'ought'
I would use 'ought' in the sense that "all people are equal in certain ways" is a heuristic with which to maximize average world happiness.

Re: Go Back - Game 2
I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on whether the medium of play or the nature of the game has been a bigger factor. Why don't we find out?

Re: Go Back - Game 2
People don't usually go to forums and wikis to play Go. In fact, many if not most players don't go to either at all.

Re: Go Back - Game 2
Go Back is turning out to be horrendously slow on L19 and practically dead on SL. But Go Back is on the upcoming Kaya Go Server's (http://kaya.gs) ideas page (http://kaya.uservoice.com), so go vote and/or make a comment!

Re: A new server is being developed: Kaya.gs
It's still unprofessional to imply, even jokingly, that anyone who refuses to invest is a moron. Ironically, many people, when they are insulted, or even criticized constructively, stupidly make the irrational decision to refuse to listen anymore, a.k.a. not invest. Does kaya.gs seriously think ...
