I'll be rooting for Yuki Satoshi since Iyama Yuta isn't in it.

From China I root for Tan Xiao. My favorite young pro from china, I like his style!

From Japan I root for Cho Chikun. (I assume that's the same player as 'chihoon' if not I root for Yuki Satoshi ofc and Takao Shinji aswell. They're both Disciples of Fujisawa 9d so I hope they can make him proud)

From Korea I root for Lee Chango. I hope he can get back in shape and get good results again.

Tough match-up for Catalin to start, yikes!

That Kim vs Qiu pairing is the highlight of this round, in my opinion. Will be excited to review the kifu.

The following pairs are still playing.

Kim Jiseok vs Qiu Jun
Chen Yaoe vs Won Seongjin
Fan Tingyu vs Taao Shinji
Kong Jie vs Hane Naoki

Trout, is there a reason you consistently write Chen Yaoe instead of Chen Yaoye?

Reading up on the tourney I saw they are following the Ing rules. http://senseis.xmp.net/?IngRules

They include:

Area scoring
Ing counting, filling in the board with 180 stones for each player
Multiple-stone suicide is allowed
Komi is 8 in even games; Black wins ties in even games
Ing Ko Rule applies
Free handicap stone placement; White wins ties
Additional timing rules (one variation includes losing points for going over the allotted basic time)

Anyone here played them before? How was it?

As far as I know only the timing rules/losing points have had an interesting effect. Does anyone know if other aspects of the rules have been different from Chinese rules in these tournaments?
