Lag City
I asked my opponent at Kaya to make a few moves as fast as he could, which he complied with, and the lag was awful. Just for comparison, try out Igfip. You can play as fast as you can click the mouse. Ultra solid foundation.
I hope I'm not violating the L19 TOS here. I tried Kaya, and I'm simply relating my admittedly negative but honest impressions.
I'm genuinely interested in learning to play Go. I usually finish my games except for the last two because of the vast disparity in skill level.

Re: Lag City
I guess I shouldn’t reply to this at all …
IMHO our expectations influence our experiences. Let me ask you: Do you ever expect anything good from other people or their projects?

Re: Lag City
Complaining about lag during a stress test beta completely misunderstands the point of the beta. Putting in a tweaki that Gabriel checks rather often would be more useful and in much better faith.

There's an inverse relationship. Generally, if you expect too much, you'll be disappointed. With Kaya though, I didn't expect much and I was right.

Thanks, Mark, for implicitly answering my question

Au contraire. This is precisely the time to complain. I tried to put in a tweaki by clicking the feedback button on the tweaki page. It didn't show up though. So, hopefully they'll read this.
Lag is something serious. It's caused by a bottleneck and can be extremely difficult to fix. There's really no time like the present to complain about something potentially disastrous like excessive lag, which only tends to grow with increased server load. There's no feature more important than the foundation.

I think his point is that there is a difference between giving feedback, and pointless whining.

Re: Lag City
Just to be clear, at Kaya a stone appears as fast as *you* click, but not as fast as your opponent clicks. You should be able to move in rapid succession. Pop-pop-pop-pop-pop. That isn't happening. It's more like pop... wait... pop... wait...
Kaya is not state of the art. Far from it. As I said earlier, see Igfip for a state of the art foundation.

Pointing out problems with the server is really, really useful. Especially when you're in Alpha or Beta, because this is the whole point of such phases. However - unless they're really lame

They do have a bug zone.
I don't think a dislike button is a good idea. If you disagree with someone you should probably say why

... and yet I do not see you asking many Go-related and learning-related questions here. People can help you, you know.
Instead you just patronize people and complain about Kaya - which is still in beta and has a lot of issues to be fixed.
Why don't you try KGS instead, then? Learn the game - and there are tons of resources and friendly players out there... when you know more and are better able to judge the merits of this or that server, revisit Kaya and make up your mind.
Personally:
I am not big on Kaya (yet) because of a few very specific things (mainly not understanding what they are trying to do) - so I just play on KGS and wait if they solve their problems and/or reveal themselves or not. Then I decide where I want to play and why. For now I just give them the benefit of the doubt and all the kudos for hard and good work.
PS>
Not to be negative - but you really could not come up with better example than igfip?!?
That server positively sucks, especially where Go is concerned (which admittedly is the only part I checked.) Playok or even yahoo games would have been a better example of the point you are trying to make, imho.
