I am glad I read the whole thread before I bought it. I was ready to put my money down, but I won't be buying the app now.

you seem to be really quick to accuse...
I highly doubt that WMS even cares if you use that program or not. He has nothing against you or apple.
a more likely scenario would be that some silly user got himself banned while using that ip address, thus accidentally banning everyone else. (its happened before -- an entire US Go Congress was once banned because of one silly user)

Sorry WMS
And you are right xed, it's highly probably someone messed something accidentally, with no purpose to ban anyone.
I'm waiting for an answer from their help desk.

Ok, all is fine now. Connection is stable, java is working. KGS on iPhone/iPod/iPad is back!
Re: KGS on iPhone&iPad - very easy tutorial
Prior to finding this thread I started thinking about a similar idea. Using the Amazon cloud to provide a VNC connection to the KGS client. I had a look at the AlwaysOnPC website but they do not mention the subscription fee etc. Personally I would not go near a web service that is not transparent about pricing.
If anyone is interested in testing and/or helping with this please let me know.
So far we have a server running on the Amazon Cloud that allows access only to the KGS client via VNC. The KGS client starts immediately and is full screen. The next step would be to allow multiple users to access independent versions of the KGS client.
There are free "lite" iOS apps that provide a VNC client, I've tried Mocha VNC Lite on my iPad and that works well. The paid version is $5.99

KGS on iPhone&iPad - very easy tutorial

thx oren for this info.
There are currently two VirtualBrowsers apps which are vnc client to the external server. Both are 5$ only and are much cheaper solution than full featured AlwaysOnPC app. These all apps are made by the same team - Xform. As for now I would recommend one of the VirtualBrowsers (there are Chrome and Firefox versions) over AlwaysOnPC as they are simply cheaper. However AlwaysOnPC is a full desktop linux with a lot of useful software - so it has also some advantages.
These apps are also available for android devices.

KGS on iPhone&iPad - very easy tutorial
The solution provided by MarkNZed is way better than anything I tried. It is a very good idea. Just need a few tweaks and it would be most useful way to play on kgs on any smartphone and tablet.
Also a good vnc client is needed. PocketCloud is the one which I can recommend to use.

Re: KGS on iPhone&iPad - very easy tutorial
There are instructions at http://www.hilolens.com/kgs.html to connect to a service for playing KGS on the iPad.
I don't have a plan for this but if there is enough demand we can make it permanent. The server is running on the Amazon cloud so it is very easy to increase the number of users it can support.
Please let me know if it is working (or not) for you.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: KGS on iPhone&iPad - very easy tutorial
(EDIT/OffTopic: i uploaded the screenshot from my ipad
and it seems that it is displayed extremly big size... Sorry for that, maybe you can tell me a nice way to let it get displayed smaller size?)
I tryied the virtualpc sollution but it did not work, i gave up after 30 minutes... maybe there is a way to update the java with in the virtual machine... i tried this several times but could not do it.
