After years of casual online gaming, I realized that I quickly became bored of the tedious game-play and overly-complex mechanics prevalent in most mmorpgs. But Go seems like the opposite. The mechanics are clean and simple: black and white on wood; yet the game-play is always a bit different. Well, that's what I understood with a couple minutes of research on this game anyway.
I come from a Korean family, so I've been familiar with Go for a while now (we even had a set at home for a time), but I never fully understood it, so I only played omok (four in a row) and "all-kka-gee" (a game like marbles where we try to knock off the opponents stones off the board)
Anyway, I would really love to learn how to play Go properly. It would be great if you could recommend me to one or two things that helped you the most in growing as a player. Thanks so much for your time and help; I really appreciate it
As a side note, I've been on many different forums for many different things, and so far I have to say that this has to be up on my list as one of the nicest, most civil forums I have ever seen. Maybe it's the age difference or something like that, I don't know. But it sure is refreshing o_o
