Contact play against a side star point.

In my last game I had a moyo (a situation I don't like) and my opponent started invading with a contact play under the star point.

Starting from this position, should b be able to live?

Looks like a common invasion - black should be able to live if white decides to enclose by all means. Although usually white rather looks for profit from attacking while black escapes to the center.
