I'm about half an hour old now. Wow, I'm aging fast.

I'm banbot, tester's younger brother. I'm about 2 minutes old. The sole purpose of my existence is to be banned. I'm beginning to feel very old.

I'm 34.

Prior to having kids, there never seemed to be any difference in what age I was. Now it seems I have a benchmark, and it's made me realise that time does indeed move on. It brings a realisation of mortality for some reason, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Having kids has made me realise I won't live forever, which was an automatic assumption until a couple of years ago.

Time to get cracking...

30, 5 kids, second wife, 4th house (excluding w/parents). I feel like life has been rather busy so far.

It's nice to have a hobby that was played so regularly (and to such a higher level than I can) for hundreds of years before my grandparents were born :)

18 and I feel much older. Paying for college without parental help has stressed me out. Not to mention on constantly seeing kids blow their parents money on food, clothes, ect. makes me jealous. Hell, half these kids would be homeless if their parents said, "You're on your own." Oh ya also wondering if I'll be able to get job after college due to the economic state. The glories of adulthood!

I've experienced that living on a low budget can have great value in later life on multiple levels. Makes you appreciate the situation once you're better off. Plus being able to economise is a good trait to have. You see things different from others who were silverspoon fed.

Yeah I definitely agree. I enjoy living on my own much more than when I lived at home. Way more fun and much more freedom. However, the stress level definitely goes up and now I have to worry about financials, ect. Thank god for financial aid though!

This is a great point. Personally, I've been a little lucky in life for various reasons, but this reminds me of something I heard about being rich. It's pretty basic, really, but I think it's good to know that there are two ways of being rich: getting more money and spending less money. I guess there could be combinations of those two factors, but I think it's useful to know. In particular, it's easy to get stuck on always wanting to get more money, but I'm not sure if attention is always paid to spending less money.

I think this applies to happiness and satisfaction in life, too. You can want more good things to happen to you, or you can learn to be satisfied with your situation.

I feel that this is why ascetic people can have some happiness from abstaining from the pleasures of life. It's kind of interesting.
