Greatest Handicap Youâve Played Or Played Against?
Today, at our local Go playing evening I told the other players that I had found out how to place the stones above 9 HC … and then another player and I played a 21-Handicap game, just for the fun of it.
To our great astonishment White won by resign after Black made a big mistake involving a huge Oiotoshi towards the end. Sadly, I didn’t record this game, perhaps I should begin doing so. (BTW which app for iPad would you’d recommend for this?)

I once gave 40 stones (free placement) and won.

I think I've given 9 stones and 100 points reverse komi on OGS before.

~20 stones plus 10 times being allowed to play 2 moves in a row, rather squandered by repeatedly killing an already dead group.

Also I've given (and beaten) 15 stones on a 13x13.

Re: Greatest Handicap Youâve Played Or Played Against?
Have won one, lost one playing on 49 stones as white (2nd line, 4th line, 7th line, 10th line, 13th line, 16th line, 18th line). Won 6/6 playing on 25 stones (I usually give this to beginners who are like "you can't possibly win, I have everything!")
Also have both given and been given 13 stones (white won both times - the time I was given it was around a week after I started playing, against a 1d, lost by 6.5 or something).
When I was ~10k my friend (beginner) and I had a bet that he couldn't score any points with him having 9 stones on a 19x19 and I won the bet ^_^ . Won by over 400 points lol, he kept trying to kill me even when the entire board was dead and I passed like 50 times in the end until there were no legal moves left and he had to pass
.
I'm also 5/7 giving 9 stones on a 9x9 board. Beginners are so kind and just let me make exceptionally awesome second line territory and live in the corners... I open at the mighty 2-2 point, then the scary peep at the 2-4 point is the winning move...

What were the ranks of the two players in this game, and who was who? Just out of curiosity

The members of our local Go group have no ranks yet since they never played on servers or tournaments. I usually have to give them at least 4–5 stones on 13x13. We meet regularly since July 2011, and other than me, they only play on these meetings. I’m also the only one who reads any Go literature. And so it was me who played White. My opponent probably is something like 20-23k, and after having had a long work day beginning at 04:30 in the morning, he played quite jittery.

I think I have once given an opponent three hundred and sixty handicap stones and still managed to win.

I guess you needed more than 180 stones for that one (or you could have just set reverse komi to 360)

Good job, under Chinese rules, with the correct handicap placement, that is a nice come from behind win.
My days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle

Re: Greatest Handicap Youâve Played Or Played Against?
Up until last week, I would play in OGS handicap tournaments and routinely give 9 stones + 50-100 komi. I kept getting to the end of the game, and realize I'm losing by 40 points because of the retarded komi.
