Re: New Go Proverbs thread
my old sig used to say baduk is cruel to its lovers, but i think as a proverb would be.....

Proverb on sacrifice:
"It is always better to sacrifice your opponent's stones."
"It is always better to sacrifice your opponent's stones."
Attack your enemy where he is vulnerable. Invincibility depends on yourself. Your enemy's vulnerability depends on him.
If your enemy has no weakness, make yourself invincible. When he develops a vulnerability, attack!

I like this one.
As for the other thing, of course I was joking.

Oui Oui.
We don't know who we are; we don't know where we are.
Each of us woke up one moment and here we were in the darkness.
We're nameless things with no memory; no knowledge of what went before,
No understanding of what is now, no knowledge of what will be.

Oui Oui.
Let's just translate Mosdef's quote as meaning something more like 'Don't forget the aji of your "doomed" stones'. His words just sound prettier.
Someday I want to be strong enough to earn KGS[-].

For Harlequin:
For who it may conceirn, If You're group losses it's liberteis, its daedd.
Translation: Putting the right stones in the wrong places will piss your opponent off
EDIT: And isn't it ironic that stones sometimes die, right as they're about to live?

Re: New Go Proverbs thread
I like this one a lot from most-respected-forum-key-player Araban:
'I think I've played enough games to realize that underestimation is the key ingredient to disaster.'
I have to constantly remind myself of this when playing someone with a lower rank.
(Any spelling or grammar mistakes in my post?)

No, except perhaps for the colloquial omission of a predicate in the question.
(The above is a sentence fragment, which is acceptable as an answer to a direct question.)
A good system naturally covers all corner cases without further effort.
