Re: North Americian Go Convention
This is really a fantastic announcement - who are the organizers? It seems there is backing from the Chinese community given the language of the site and the convention email address @126.com.

Well, I'm excited. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the NY/NJ event.

Very interesting. The "Silver" pricing seems high if all you get to do is play in the tournaments, which looks like the definition of that registration level. (Although I admit it appears it is possible to play in two tournaments according to the schedule.) It will be interesting to see what the Gold pricing which includes the pro lectures, simuls, and reviews will look like. It's still possible for the organizers to make that a bargain.

This just reminds me of my vow to never travel to the northeast in winter. I always seem to get stuck by bad weather then.
It looks interesting, and I'd like to hear more about it. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works out.

DC is often fairly reliable weather-wise around then, though a bit chilly. Of course it could also be in the 70s, like last winter.

Yeah, DC is usually not a problem. Last time I was in Philly in February was not good. NYC would be similar to that.

Re: North Americian Go Convention
I wish there was an option to attend the lectures but not play in the tournaments. I'm thinking of going, but I'm much more interested in the lectures than playing.
