I would be very pleased if someone could give me some advice on this game. I am sure I made plenty of mistakes before this point (certainly many afterwards), but I was wondering if there is a standard way to respond to move 31? A similar sequence happened later in the game - move 113 - but I totally messed up that one. I would appreciate suggestions about these moves in particular, but also the rest of my (very sloppy but mercifully short) game.
More beginner questions..

Thanks! So I guess move 58 was the real mistake for me - and everything else cascaded afterwards! What would be better? K15, K14, tenuki?

jms,
was not THE mistake. There were many mistakes, but it's not the most efficient to point them all out,
so we focus on just a few. (Because there are mistakes of different levels, and some are more difficult to fix than others.)
For example, at
, notice the two W stones at Q10 and R6 are very thin (weak),
so it's possible to do something there. Another big move is just taking the W stone with E13.
There are multiple options for B. The problem is more and more mistakes hurt you later.

Re: More beginner questions..
Ah. Yes. Sorry. I realised it was riddled with mistakes. I didn't mean to imply I had only made 1 mistake!!! Thanks for the extra comments. I will try to apply tbem...
