Please help I don't understand why black group is alive

Hello I am new to go and am trying my best here is a game I played on my phone but I don't really understand why the black group labeled 5 is still alive. I did my best this game but I also attached a move list in order of played if any cares to analyzed and explain my game to me thats great too thank you

Well... the game isn't over! Best play for both sides would, I believe, see the top white group and the top black group alive in seki (that is, neither can put the other in Atari without being captured). But it's not impossible for one of the groups to capture the other.

I think it depends who's turn it is. E8 seems to be the key point; black first kills white, white first lives in seki. Or am I wrong?

It's w's turn, but he needs to play on the right side first, actually, or else W dies on both sides after b gives Atari.

Oh ok so it was whites turn and they resigned I will download the sgf program and load up future games that way. So then the black group is in sente and that's why there both alive

Yes exactly! (but it's called "seki" - sente is when you make a move and your opponent needs to respond) Even if both W groups live, W loses the game, it makes sense that W resigned.
