Re: Aji's Quest
Okay, changes made. The paper size adjustment left more room, and I added Sensei's Library, since it seem it should be on there, too. Any other suggested changes?

Re: Aji's Quest
Just two suggestions! Maybe not worth making a new version for.
1. For people who don't know what Hikaru No Go is, bolding or kerning-out the title will make it clear that it's a title of some sort (it's hard to pick up on these things in small caps text - really, "The Interactive Way to Go" could benefit from the same treatment, maybe "Tiger's Mouth" as well)
2. I liked the color scheme on the first version better - I was always told not to use orange on white for writing, because many people have trouble seeing it. That goes double on a page which has so much tiny text and so little negative space already. Of course, you're the graphic designer, so...
PS, I love "OR BUGS!" Most. Adorable. Ever.

Thanks, JTS! That's good to know about orange. It's tough coming up with enough individual colors for all the titles that are readable, but I will definitely make some changes.
One of the few sucky things about Corel Painter, the program I use, is that the text tools are awful. Text is treated all as one big box, and if you want to bold or underline or change colors or fonts of a few words, you have to just leave a blank space and make a completely new text box for the words in the other type style. (Also, whenever you save. close the file, and r-open it, all the text has crept slightly out of place.) Therefore, I probably will not be tweaking the titles. Maybe I can put a highlight color behind them.

The pamphlet is finished!
You can download the high-res version in a zip file here. (Let me know if the link doesn't work, please!)

Here's the textless version!

Now I can get back to drawing the comic.

Re: Aji's Quest
Sorry it's taking so long! A lot of things are going on lately and robbing me of my free drawing time. This weekend was the monthly meeting of my anime club plus an all-day event today with five hours of driving time (the one I made the pamphlets for) next week I have some odd work shifts, a vet appointment for the dog, an all-day seminar at work, and a convention I feel I ought to go to because friends are on the organizing committee and they always come to my events. (I may play hooky from that one.) Speaking of which, coming up in April I have my own big all-day anime event at the library which takes a lot of prep time, including cleaning my entire apartment because it's the only time I have house guests and I tend to let things slide the rest of the year...
I will do my best to have an update as soon as possible! I do have a few pages drawn, we'll see how much I can catch up tomorrow. ^^

Re: Aji's Quest
Monday night I slipped on the ice and sprained a couple of fingers. Fortunately, they weren't on my drawing hand.

It is probably poor etiquette to 'like' a post where the poster reports a personal injury, but
So 'no harm, no foul', right?

Yay more pages! And so quickly!
This always brightens my day to see more of the story. Keep up the awesome work.
And like Phelan said, good luck with the event!

I'd like to play a game of Go with you - but you will play such
fancy things that I will never know where you are aiming at.
Provided you play riddle after riddle like you do in Aji's Quest.
Page 90 left me puzzled as always. And curious. Hehe how funny
was that: the goats quarrel and dispute, but Aji just skips them.
And then, this club with new characters like two new masters etc.
Love that!
For those who like to read German (or those who hate it, but have
to learn): there are two PDFs online which make nice booklets out
of the first pages of Aji's Quest.
Heft 1 - Aji is introduced, on page 9 we learn what Go is, and we
learn how Aji's way to wayqi starts, heading for mount Moyo.
Heft 2 - Aji arrives, but he has difficulties to get uphill, as
the first guardian is difficult to beat.
Cheers,
Rainer

Ha ha ha! You would be disappointed. I was KGS 10k at my very best, and I have had little or no time to play, practice and study while drawing the comic or working on my previous book. I don't even get to play my nemesis Neil at Go club any more, because he's been out of town for months.

Back when the comic was first starting, I asked Paul Barchilon over at Tiger's Mouth if it would be okay to do a cameo with Dosaku and Wu. He didn't get back to me very quickly (probably had to consult with the other people in the comic credits) and I had a lot of momentum at the time, so by the time he answered, I was past the point I meant them to appear in, and The Captain and Erc were the players Aji met at the Crittervania League of Go. But I still thought it would be fun to have the Tiger's Mouth characters appear, and so this was their scene. ^^ I also couldn't resist the line about Battousi's shape lecture. (There's also a group of players in the background of the Mount Moyo Go Club who might look slightly familiar to a very small anime fandom...) So, lots of in-jokes in this update.

Re: Aji's Quest
My need to procrastinate is peculiar. When I was trying to work on the comic, I kept finding other things to do instead. Now I need to get my apartment cleaned this week, and instead I spent all my free time the last few days drawing.
Not that this was a very challenging update to draw, but...it's there. Page 91-95 are up! ^^

So, can we hope that you have a garage, storage room, or whatever that needs cleaning next?
