That's how I used to feel for years (about 1 liberty in cap race, life-and-death, etc.)
until my teacher pointed out to me that of course it's about 1 liberty --
if it were 2 or more libs, then someone can already tenuki, so who cares? :mrgreen:

Then, to put it another way - it's not a 'clean' kill, it's a capturing race, albeit one that black wins (for now). :)

The key to this statement is "at my level". I think generally you want to avoid being high centered on specific techniques, especially if you are in the business of improving. There are some tricks that never get old though.

Like when someone shoulder hits my my san-san then tries to push seal it in with a second line press after I push and make a Knights move. I used not like this, but now it is fun. The only sad part is now that I know how to refute it I have gained a stone and no one does that anymore. I see distant approaches and high defenses. In the end they were just annoying short sighted players with annoying personalities.
