Good luck. It is definitely do-able.

The folks I've seen do it are far better at fighting (reading) than those who make it slower. Being able to cut and kill makes up for most any deficiency in theory, at least as far as shodan.

A pro once laughed at me kindly when I talked about theory. She said that in China, my opponent would say, "You have excellent theories. Now I kill you." Too true!

Just now, Valentine2 wanted to undo.

I never ask for undo. I learned that when my dad thaught me to play chess when I was 5. Since then, in no game I ask to undo. I expect the same respect from my opponents.

So, I didn't gave him to undo. He called me noob and resigned.

Is there some weird codex on KGS about undoing that I'm not familiar with?

I am not familier with kgs etiquette, but imho undo is something fro a friendly game between friends. I never ask to undo myself too. I grant undo only to friends.

If it's an obvious misclick, it's good to grant it. Otherwise, it's up to the players how they want to deal with it. If you felt he just misread and make a mistake, you're fine in not granting it. His reaction in either case is rude.

Glanced at the game, you got the win on forfeit which means your opponent escapes enough that I expect this to be common with him. It also looks to be an obvious bad read and not a misclick. You can move on and not worry about it.

Hi. I took a quick look at your game list on KGS. This month you have averaged almost two games per day. That shows great enthusiasm, but your strongest opponent was 9 kyu. I would worry about picking up bad habits. IMO, if you want to advance quickly, I think you would do better to play two games per week, against no opponent weaker than 4 kyu. (Not that I am recommending two games per week, but against better opponents.)

BTW, misclicks are easy to have happen. My girlfriend does not play go, but her trackpad is so sensitive that misclicks happen all the time. I had one that would sometimes make a click when I was just hovering over it.

I would be ashamed to ask for undo myself, even if it's obvious missclick. I lost at least 2 ranked games bc of missclick last year, when I started. Never asked for undo. It would put a stain on my eventual win. Maybe it's stupid, I just feel that way. It's legitimate as any other stand on missclicks and undos.

Due to that, I feel that I have a right not to grant undo.

Missclicks can happen, but it's all go. Sure, mimicks of you opponent, iritating way he breath or any other distracting factors are less then 0.1% of go, but it's also go.

I lost a won game couple of days ago bc of my crappy 3g connection. For me, it's the same bad luck as missclick. But, it happens.
