Do you know which client it was?

The new one, GoPanda2.

He was initially very happy with it, said it is very beautiful, though he found no way to join our team channel.

At some point, he tried to make a move, but it didn't appear. He clicked several more times and nothing happened, then tried to click other points and nothing happened. To the observers, however, two moves did arrive, the second being the first point he clicked after the opponent's response to the first, and an obvious misclick. (move 155 in this game:

We talked about getting an undo (Sandmann was ok with that), but then he decided it was to much trouble for a game that is lost anyway. (Unless you know which commands to type in the console, there is no obvious way to get an undo.)

We had a similar issue in the AGA City League and one of our team members lost about 30 minutes not realizing something was wrong.

I think every in our team is switching to GoPanda1 now.

Yeah, I use GoPanda1, though I can't say I like it much. I run it under Linux (with Oracle Java 8) and get errors all the time.

Having to play on IGS is a real bummer. Some of the top UK players aren't in the team because they hate it so much. Some of our loses are part caused by IGS crapiness (e.g. our two 0.5 loses against Norway were afflicted by massive lag, Martha lost 15 minutes of her time and entered byo-yomi without realizing due to client problems). I really don't know how much longer I can put up with this awful server...

I agree, but they are putting up some money for this and AGA City League. I would not use GoPanda2 anymore. Other than that, I've been lucky to not experience any other IGS issues.

Yes, but we don't see the benefits of the sponsorship (free trip to EGC for top 4 teams) down in the lower divisions, just the downsides of having to play on IGS.

Final Rounds

The last rounds of the season 2012/2013 Pandanet Go European Team Championship will be played in the next three Tuesdays. League A will play the final round on the eve of May Day (sorry about that) and the results will decide the fourth qualifier for the PGETC top four finals. Hungary, Serbia, France and Romania surely play their matches with a great determination. It’s not easier among the bottom three, only one of the countries Sweden, Israel or Germany will sail to the next year’s League A, while another one plays a play-off and the third one drops down to League B.

League B will play on Tuesday 7th May and the top three – Finland, Austria and the Netherlands – know what’s required. At the other end, Italy, Switzerland and UK have some unresolved business as well.

And which country or countries will be promoted from the League C – Slovakia, Slovenia or Turkey? Tuesday 14th May will answer that question for the top country.

Join us at IGS Pandanet, most games will be played on 19:00 or 20:00 CEST and for exceptions, see each league schedule.

Cheers,
Vesa

HermanHiddema wrote:Well, round 6 just happened. Netherlands beat Austria, and Finland beat Belgium.

That puts Finland at 12 points, Netherlands and Austria at 10 points, Belgium at 7.

Belgium's chances are very slim now.

Netherlands are behind Austria by one board point, but Austria still have to play Finland and Belgium, while Netherlands have already played all the other top contenders, so I will stick to my earlier prediction.

Last round in league B was just played yesterday, and sadly my prediction did not pan out. Austria won against both Finland and Belgium, and therefore remain tied with the Netherlands for second place. They do just slightly better on board points, so they get to play the play-off. Ah well, better luck next year :)

Austria: Good luck against Israel!
