After a brief hiatus,...

Post by tekesta »

After a brief hiatus, I played three games on KGS on 14 June, this time against mfgo09kyu. In the first 2 I played with the usual mistakes and fell behind by a lot. I had a feeling that, especially in the first 2 games, I was being greedy and driven by a compulsion to defend territory - something I've been slooowly shaking off.

Then, in a fit of rage I tried a different approach and won by 2.5 pts.

Much obliged in advance for your kind commentary.

[edit]
about the third game, here my 7 kyu comments
[/edit]
After 18 you missed several opportunities to play e8, a keypoint for both.
29 is much better at b18
31 would have been ok much earlier. Now it invites him to build strength to attack your moyo. Consider e8 or d4. d4 connects better to your stones than 31 and is in the middle of a big open area.
41 is a wasted move.
W 54 is a shape error; g9 is much better.
B55..63 are nice moves!
69 & 71: when attacking keep distance and don't leave cutting points behind.
73 force at L11 first: eye stealing tesuji.
87 missed two eyestealing tesujis l11 & p7.
91 connects better at n6
B 93..97 I would try at d4. So much fun there.
After 98 the f7 area is small. I would try q2.
I think I am so I think I am.
