Hi everyone,
I've looked around the forum a bit and quite enjoyed some of the posts. I finally decided to join in myself and become a part of this great community.
A little about myself: I first learned about go by watching Hikaru no Go and fell in love with the game, without even knowing all of the rules. Sometime later, I discovered a couple of my friends knew how to play and had even created a go club at our highschool. I eventually learned the rules and have been hooked ever since.
I look forward to discussing go with you all.

Re: Hello go fans!
Welcome to L19!
I find your use of the term "go fans" to be interesting, if quite accurate. (Since "fan" is a shortened form of the term "fanatic.")
I look forward to reading some of the insights you and your friends have had about this game.

Hello and welcome!
The show has got my kids interested as well. Of course my favorite character is Kuwabara Honinbo. How successful was the GO club at your HS?

We play because we enjoy the beauty of the game, the snap and feel of real stones, and meeting interesting people. Hope to see ya there! お願いします!

We were a relatively small club, about 3-5 people any given meeting. We did however have a team tournament against other schools once, like in Hikaru no Go except it was online. I was 3rd board and we eventually got 3rd place in the tournament.
P.S. Thanks everybody for the warm welcome.

Re: Hello go fans!
That team playing sounds fun! We may do a small mini tourney for the fun of it.
