Are you using iOS 6.1 or iOS 7?
From my testing, it's even worse on iOS 7.0.2. For Safari webapp, even a normal link like below won't work.

Code: Select all

<a href="http://gtl.xmp.net/sgf/92/9255-Nexik-DrStraw-colladay.sgf">test sgf </a>

From this discussion(http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1887 ... p-in-ios-7), this might be a known issue for iOS 7.

And on both iOS 6.1 and iOS 7, the data: URI as you listed can't be used to launch app, and I don't know why. It also seems custom URL scheme to launch apps from a web app works on iOS 6.1 and doens't work on iOS 7. So if iOS 7 fix this issue, I could add a custom URL schema support for EasyGo, so something like easygo://sgf/sgf-data could to be used to launch EasyGo. (however, there might be a limitation for the max length of the URL, generally it's safe to keep it less than 2048 bytes, which is almost enough for a normal game. )

Or, for the time being, just delete the line: apple-mobile-web-app-capable, however, it won't look like a web app anymore.

P.S.: This guy has the same issue with data uri in webapp, and no result yet: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1509 ... n-web-apps

Thanks for all the info. Yeah - I am using iOS7 ... it seems that I have to wait and hope it gets fixed ...

Maybe you can include a custom URL schema in your next version, if it is not too much of an effort.

Version 1.7 was just released, please check it out at Appstore.
The V1.7 update for the lite version will be available soon.

Dear EasyGo users, please help write a review or update your review on Appstore, thanks in advance.
Any queries, issues or suggestions, please post here or send email to easygo361 at gmail.

Enhancements:

• Fuseki search support: now Fuseki indexes can be rebuilt for existing games in user library, and there is an option to create Fuseki indexes during game import. Once the indexes are created, you can swipe right in the variation table to search follow up moves, and you can get all the matching games by tap the follow up moves in the variation table.
• Favorites and Tags support: Besides bookmarking system problems to user library in the previous versions, now any game or problem can be added to Favorites, and tags can be assigned to any game or problem for easy retrieval.
• Improved zip file compatibility
• (iOS 7+ only) Bluetooth keyboard support: In the game edit/reply mode, you can use the left arrow and right arrow to go backward or forward, up arrow and down arrow to go 10 moves backward or forward, Command + Up or Down to go to the beginning or the end of the game.
• Now board sizes other than 9x9, 13x13, 19x19 are allowed when creating new game (Max board size is 19)

Misc:

• Now the Japanese black is also converted to white in the comments if color swapped in problem mode
• During zip file import, any file beginning with __MACOSX will be ignored.(They are special files created by OSX while creating zip file on Mac)
• Retain the current selection when switching between list and grid view

Bug Fix:

• Fix for imported problems with board size less than 9x9(Existing problems need to be re-imported)
• If random color is enabled in problem mode, then after switching to edit mode, the comment isn't revert to the original

Problem Update:

The answers to the following problems have been improved: (Thanks to user Eric)

• Life and Death Easy: 123, 215, 224, 234, 251, 305, 327, 413
• Life and Deatch Medium: 101

EasyGo on iOS - review

Post by lobotommy »

I really like all these changes. Thank you for developing this app and adding new features. In the past year I was using it almost on daily basis as I was teaching kids in preschools and schools and I can say that it is the best go tool for such activity.

I am puzzled by the user interface. On iphone I can find settings for user profiles and accessing the help files. On ipad I can't. Are those features not available on ipad?

EDIT:

Well it figures that as soon as I posted here I found the answer myself. There are two "gears" for user settings. The ones I was looking for was in the lower left corner.

I have bought EasyGo and now I am an happy man :)
I didn't think such a powerful tsumego app would exist one day, even in my dreams
I just love the ability to tag or create personal folders of tsumegos and then doing some custom test trainings on them with time and number limits.
And then the app keeps track of your results and you can even share your scores on some social network (or challenge some friends) on leaderboards.
The spaced repetition system (based on the very good Anki) is another awesome tool include for an efficient training. The parameters and the sorting possibility are numerus. Adding to this the fact that we can create multi profiles with their own statistics and tsumegos tags and we have some incredible powerful tool.
Teaching Go to kids and beginners with the very well done Basics Library and the use of the multi profiles is also great for me and my young nephews I am teaching :study:
The sgf editor seems also promising but I haven't try it yet.

For combinatorys, EasyGo is way ahead everything I know in any games (including the numerous chess app) on any platform at this day so thanks to the author for this true gift for the go community.

It would be a pleasure to do some french translate for free if you need so.

Thanks. Please do me a favor to rate and review on the Appstore if you haven't done so, thanks a lot.

As to the localization, there are a lot of translation work: interface, bundled problems, Appstore description, help file. I think the first priority might be the interface and appstore description, and then maybe a shortened help file and comments in the bundled problems. Please PM your email address to me if you'd like to help on French translation, then I will send you the interface text and appstore description in English first. Thanks for helping.

If A, please see the above diagram, the white will get 6 points in the corner, and black keeps sente.

If B, then white have to play at B2, black can keep sente and play somewhere else, then white need to play another move at C1 to get 7 points(just one point more than the previous variation). If black continues to play here , black can play at B1, and white's territory will be greatly squeezed.

Hi xiangz, Thanks for making a nice Go app.

A few suggestions or feature requests:
  • Add an option to adjust the gaps between adjacent stones. Either as pixels, or as a percentage of the diameter of the stones;
  • Add random rotation of the shell stones, so that all the grains are not exactly at the same angle;
  • Add a few different grain patterns, because in real life each shell stone is unique in the universe. :)

Thanks. :)

Good suggestions. Item 1, 2 are easy to implement, and I will add them to todo list.
As to item 3, currently the default stone images were contributed by one user, it maybe difficult for me to get different grain patters. Anyway, I'll try. And now, you can supply custom images(blackstone01.png, whitestone01.png, blackstone02.png, whitestone02.png, etc), and I will add support of different patterns, if there are images named as blackstone01-1.png, blackstone01-2.png, etc.

By the way, if anyone have good copyright free stone images or board images to share(best personally created from pictures of real board and stones), please tell me.
If you have nice looking physical board and stones, you can also send me the pictures directly.

Hi xiangz, I have nice-looking boards and shell stones.
I've provided photos to two other Go programs before.
I'm happy to take some new photos for you.

Ed, do you also have a nice Kaya board that has no grid on the back side? I am working on a high resolution goban file in different sizes (9x9/13/13/19/19) which I want to make available for free so ppl can have it printed on PVC in print shops … I’d be very happy. Currently I only have tiny samples which I had to upscale, doesn’t look nice (and is not the correct thing to do as any media person will know).

I could even place fine print (i.e. unobtrusive) credit on a side if you want, though I assume this would violate your esthetic feeling :-)

Meanwhile, here’s my current 19x19 file (for now only JPG but will share as PDF when final), it’s too blurry for my taste, and I think the wood is too dark, and I was too lazy to fumble with curves and tone distributions when perhaps I could get a better Kaya background …

Curious … greetings,

Tom
