Here is a cool tsumego for your enjoyment. :)



From Tsumego: New Research (1935), by Kita Fumiko, 5 dan. I corrected a slight error in the diagram.

Instead of 12, if black takes white's liberty, white plays 13 and black ends up with one eye. If black plays 13 instead of 12, white plays 12 and it's the same as the diagram.

Eh?! This is nothing more than Large Lyre from Gateway To All Marvels (No. 233 in my edition).

Prodigious already posted the answer. Here are a couple of variations, as well. :)



The original position certainly looks hard to kill. I like the combination of the under the stones play and damezumari. :)

Hi Bill, my first instinct was to attack J14
But that failed... Still a bit difficult for me :blackeye:

Ahem ... two weeks the ago, the AGA's Problem Of The Week guy published the same basic problem from the Gokyo Seimyo:
