It seems like the finished product is 9x9. That is probably the best choice to attract new players, but is that the only option?
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

While the photos only show 9x9, I’m quite sure that 13x13 and 19x19 are also options. It would be a waste of material and money to build such a thing with only 9x9, I think.

Yes, it is indeed possible to choose the size of the board. If you choose 19x19, you get to play on the beautiful kaya goban from the title screen while the smaller boards have a simpler look. Also, you have a choice to either play alone against the computer or against another human. You can save and later load games for review and learn Go in an interactive tutorial (coming next week). If for example two beginners don't know if a game is over and choose to count, the computer finishes the game for them if there are still some open positions on the board. Of course, you can also have the score estimated during the game to help beginners better understand the influence of their stones. In the future, the inclusion of Go problems and maybe online Play are planned.

Reading a thread to the end is a good advice to follow before asking such a question

I've read to the end but I still wish to know the current status of the digital go board[emoji14]

This is pretty cool. I would love for something like that here in the states.

Has anyone here actaully used it? Was it an enjoyable experience?

I've tried it a while ago. Works fine, looks good. Does not have the most responsive touch screen but then again, it might be more robust this way. I heard it got broken though. Dunno whether this is true and if it is whether it will be replaced.

This electronic Go board was featured in a Chinese documentary on the game of Go. Fastforward to 36:10 to see how the board works. It looks great.
