Newsweek permanently free online?

Post by Aidoneus »

I don't know if this is temporary or not, but I just read a few articles at newsweek.com and everything seems to be free.

Jane Goodall still lecturing: http://www.newsweek.com/2014/10/31/jane ... 79259.html

and Julian Assange book excerpt: http://www.newsweek.com/assange-google- ... ems-279447

Assuming that you are not being facetious--this post being Off Topic--I only know of a Kissinger reference to Weiqi, which I looked up for you: http://www.newsweek.com/henry-kissinger ... hina-67555

A little facetious, maybe. Just wondering...
I am not averse to some OT chat here and there, but you are just unleashing a slew of OT threads lately. What gives?

PS>
As I said - just wondering, so don't stop on my account. Some of the stuff is pretty interesting. ;)

Maybe I want to contribute in some way to the forum but am too weak a beginner to add anything of value.

Or maybe I'm just bored and lonely. Since retiring from Britannica, I no longer have colleagues with which I can hold intelligent conversations.

Perhaps start a journal of your go studies? Always welcome to do that on the forum :)

Remarkably, when go players can be lured out of their holes, they can be quite the conversationalists!

Personally, I think we should encourage more OT posts. It's currently pretty quiet at L19.

IMX, in the US, anyway, go players are a highly cultured group. :)

Are you aware of Crooked Timber? ( http://crookedtimber.org/ ). Not exactly my cup of tea, but I observe from time to time. Certainly intellectual. :)

Clearly, you were properly cultured. I think that my Petri dish must have been contaminated.

Thank you for the interesting link. Of course, I already read too many newspapers, magazines, and non-MSM sources. Just ask my wife when she wants something done right now.
