How would you defend your kingdom?
It is said that the future of Tibet was once decided over the weiqi board.
Suppose an invader once again arrives on your borders. Your leaders propose a peaceful solution, all or nothing. The invader accepts, but is smart enough this time to stipulate it can be any contest BUT weiqi.
You have been chosen as your nation's champion. What game, skill, or talent do you choose for deciding the fate of you and your fellow countrymen?
Juggling? Recitation of pi digits? Thumbwrestling?

I think the leader should have chosen the game before he chose the champion.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Assuming that the invaders are substantially stronger, and cannot be pushed back...
Let's play thermonuclear war. I can push a button as well as anybody.
I suspect that they will withdraw from the competition, and I win by default.

A game of chance with as close to 50% chance of winning as possible, how about 'Russian roulette'? - or a game I feel confident I can successfully cheat at.
edit: that assumes you have no knowledge of the champion from the other side. If you do, it would depend on that. Small girl? - boxing. 7 foot heavyweight? competitive chimney climbing.

Re: How would you defend your kingdom?
There has to be something I know more about than anyone else in this world...
How much do I love my countrymen? If the answer is a lot, I'd challenge my opponent to a game of remembering stupid and embarassing things I have said, and encourage him to forfeit because the outcome is obvious.

Probably Smash Bros Melee, unless I recognize the guy, then probably like, Set or something. If I feel like they're cognitively way superior to me, depending on how ballsy I am I'd play a game of chance and skill like Magic the Gathering, or a game of endurance, like Tic Tac Toe.

I would challenge the invader to sit on an anthill swarming with fire ants and stay there for just 5 minutes without flinching. Then stay in a room swarming with horseflies for 10.

Mario Power Tennis for Gamecube.
I know someone has already mentioned a video game, but I have not only trounced a provincial champion every time we played, I do believe I can top any player in the world if I keep my skills sharp.
I could have been born with many talents, even for other video games. But no. I had to get the one I can make absolutely no money with.

Thinking about it I think the best answer is tic-tac-toe. It is a guaranteed draw so no one loses.
