Very, very sad news. Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

C'mon folks, let's be reasonable here. He became one of the greatest players in history, successfully straddled two deeply antagonistic countries, and lived to be 100... who's sad? Why are you sad? A wonderfully gifted life has come to a timely close in great comfort. Be happy for this man, be happy for all of us that we were fortunate enough to bear witness. Celebrate his life, don't mourn!
