- Anyone here plays regularly on IGS ?
- The past week or so ( Oct, 2015 ), did anyone experience an unusual amount of lags or disconnections ?
- ( Example: Very bad lags: 5 seconds to over 10 seconds during a game. )
- ( Example: Disconnects every minute while watching a game. )

Re: IGS disconnections ?
this appears to be a problem between you and the internet.
how strong and reliable is your wireless connection? looks like a mobile device, are you connecting through your carrier, or external wireless? connecting through your carrier would obviously consume data against your data plan, but it might be more reliable than an external wireless connection.
if its your own wireless device, can you reboot it to see it that fixes it? Maybe its being overloaded with traffic from other devices. how many other devices share this connection, and how active are they (streaming movies, etc)? is it password protected so that the neighbors can't sponge off your connection? are you able to monitor the data bandwidth usage and connections?

Hi xed_over,
Good morning.
Thanks for your thoughtful reply.
If it were any of the mentioned standard 'help desk' issues,
I wouldn't have asked the question here.
If you have a good connection to IGS, good for you.
Now we have two data points. That does not answer the question.
For the past 7 days, how many IGS games have you played or watched live ?
Same question, for the past 365 days.
Since this is a self-selected poll (with very few reponders no less),
it's not very useful anyway. ( The reply to my Oct 29 question 'Anyone here plays regularly on IGS ?' is Zero so far. )
In fact, I'm curious what the pie chart looks like for the regular usage of various Go venues for all the active forum members here.

Nope. I don't play (esp. online) generally. And when I do go online, its usually only on kgs.
I think the last time I logged onto igs was to broadcast the pandanet city league finals (which only 12 people watched, and I think most of those was our staff).
Anytime I see connections issues mentioned, I still believe my standard "help desk" replies are applicable, even if the actual problem is more widespread, because typically the problems are more localized than widespread and it should be simple enough for users to rule those out.
