I was playing in a tournament on OGS today and was a bit confused about one of my games. I was playing this game as black and white resigned. I thought it was too early for them to resign and I thought that white was likely to win.
Should white have resigned? Also any other analysis is welcome.
Thanks

I would say that white has a very comfortable victory. Sometime people resign because they have to leave suddenly.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

No. White probably has a won game here. He apparently thinks that he has been trapped and killed, but...Kodey wrote:...

You seem to have a habit of attacking with groups that are a bit too weak. One example is the group that got killed up top. It had insufficient liberties, and no place to run.Kodey wrote:...Also any other analysis is welcome...
In the final position, you have the same problem. Your G7-G10 group is weak. All white has to do is push through at G6 and you will be busy defending it while white escapes.
Remember that most attacks in a game by two strong players do not result in kills. Most of the time, the defender survives and the attacker gets his profit in other ways.
In your game, rather than trying to kill his center group, your move 80 could be at J3, just calmly taking territory. Sure, he can the save his group. When he does, he can make a mere two points in gote, while you take much more along the lower side in sente.

Re: 20k-15k was white right to resign?
But two things jump out at me right near the beginning
a) move 29 --- what SHOULD you have played?
b) move 31 --- having made the mistake at move 29, could you have recovered? how?
"a" you should learn, comes up a lot. Liberties, liberties, liberties.
"b" would be a good exercise since at your level going to make lots of mistakes, so you need to consider that maybe there is an escape after all or at least something that minimizes damage.
You could try "b" first (that's a hint)

In this case, it is not about the number of liberties --a) move 29 --- what SHOULD you have played?
"a" you should learn, comes up a lot. Liberties, liberties, liberties.
Kodey's
rather, it is about which liberty, or, which is the correct sequence.
Liberty count is important, of course; but more important is the exact sequence.
