Problem with viewing SGFs
I don't know if its just my computer but when I try to view sgfs on the site, I just see red dots instead of stones. Could someone shed some light on this please?

Re: Problem with viewing SGFs
A few questions:
Has this always been the case, or is this a new problem, if its new when did it start?
what operating system, browser, and browser version are you running?
Does this happen with all sgf's or only some?

I'm thinking...

Re: Problem with viewing SGFs
Im sorry it took me so long to reply but ever since I cleared my cache my browser freezes up when I come to this site. It seems fine now though...
As for my machine specs: I use Windows XP sp3, Internet Explorer 8.
The problem just started for me about two weeks ago but I figured it would just pass after a while. It seems to happen to all sgf files, regardless of which sub-forum its in.

Re: Problem with viewing SGFs
I tested on my family's Windows 7 box using IE8 and I did not have this problem. I don't have access to Windows XP, however, so I could not test it on there.

Re: Problem with viewing SGFs
No, I can view the sgf's on EidoGo just fine. My browser also almost froze up again.
I think I may just re-install my web browser, sooner or later.

Re: Problem with viewing SGFs
Hmmm, I just tested it in IE7, IE8 and Firefox on Windows XP and it worked fine for me. Is it only particular threads or all SGF files on the forum? You said you see the red dots - do they show up in appropriate places as you scroll through the game, or do they show up in weird spots or all in one corner?
Are you positive you don't have IE6? I couldn't get IE6 working this morning for some reason, but there are probably bugs in ye olde browser. (I should probably have it display an error message in IE6; if you're running that, you really need to upgrade).
Do you have anything else odd about your setup? Viruses? Spyware? Dodgy video drivers?

Or try temporarily disabling your antivirus/firewall. Those cause problems quite often.

Re: Problem with viewing SGFs
All I basically see is the red dot or square that shows which stone was last played. I cant actually see the stones themselves though. As for anti-virus and the like, I downloaded Malware Bytes several weeks ago but I hadn't experienced this problem back then. I am 100% sure that I am running IE8. Its seems I just may have to uninstall then reinstall my browser.
I wonder if Nakamura is still experiencing these problems.

Re: Problem with viewing SGFs
Are you running IE in compatibility mode? That would probably break things.

Re: Problem with viewing SGFs
No, it seems that doesnt have any effect either. A strange thing though is that I dont have a "compatability view" button next to my URL bar when I come here like most other websites.
