KCC Igo also known as Silver Igo and Ginsei igo

Post by Tanana »

With all the discussion of AlphaGo, I got to thinking about the Go playing program from North Korea, which was first known as KCC Igo, and later distributed in Japan as Silver Igo and Ginsei igo. Is that still being updated? I understand that at one point, it was one of the best programs out there. Not clear to me how much of it was plagerized from Prof. Chen Zhixing's Handtalk. Sensei's Library has a short article on it. http://senseis.xmp.net/?SilverStar

Most programmers avoid talking about that because they've no solid proof of plagiarizusm (of the new version). They just say that it's a strong MCT program.
