14k x 13k game

Post by Wellington Henrique »

My last game, i'm playing as White. I'm on a little slump right now, always doing some bad mistakes. So i decide to change things a little in my games, i noticed that in most of my games i tend to try to play more for influence and the center. I wasn't doing that on purpose but now i'm trying to make that a part of my game. Any tips and criticism will be well recived.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Wellington,

:b17: Not a good combination with his 2 existing keima stones ( :b13: & :b15: ).
( J17 is one joseki move for B; not here. See :b27: . )

:w18: You help him fix his shape ( see above ).

:b27: Joseki ( re: :b17: , :w18: ).

:w28: If you want to build a wall here, first peep D8, then D6.

:w32: If you push here, you'd better have a plan to cut.
Proverb: push-and-cut. Let's see if you cut afterwards...

:w34: ...Nope. If you don't plan to cut, or if the cut is bad for you,
then don't push with :w34: -- the net result here is
you reduced your own liberties.

:b37: Mistake.

:w38: Can you find a better sequence for W ?

:w42:, :w44: Same problem as above. ( Re: :w32:, :w34: . )
In other words, your plan should be to push through with :w46: at B11.
Otherwise, your exchange of :w42: - :b43: only reduced your own liberties. ( Re: :w32:, :w34: . )

:w60: Why.

:w78: Not the right feeling for this shape. H11.

:w80: J10. Take.

:b81: If you had simply captured the 2 stones with :w80:, this move would not be an atari.

:white: 112 Just M13.
